Training Objectives

To cultivate entrepreneurs and advanced professional managers with “five factors”

  • Good business morality and social responsibility
  • Global perspective and the latest operation and management concept

  • Ability to acquire modern management knowledge and the latest issues and trends in international economic and technical development
  • Outstanding leadership skills and ability to change to adapt to international competition

Course Advantages

  • Wuhan University’s EMBA Education Centre pays much attention to three key factors which affect the quality of the actual EMBA courses:
  • Course teaching resources: domestic senior EMBA professors, and renowned enterprise management experts, and foreign renowned professors and experts.
  • Course characteristics: core courses, case citations, interaction and discussion, study forums, and parties and field survey.
  • Course system: emphasis on frontier, pertinence, systematisation, combination of knowledge and practice, detailed teaching and summaries.

Course Characteristics

The design of the EMBA course is unique, in that it applies western advanced modern management theories and practices to Chinese context and practice, systematically introducing and analysing western advanced management concepts and successful enterprise cases in depth. In addition, domestic and overseas management experts and enterprise CEO’s or government officials are regularly invited to give lectures and share with students the latest research achievements from domestic and international research bodies, management practice and policy trends. All courses will be taught by module and the students must accomplish a graduation dissertation.

Teaching Model

To adapt to the principles of combination of internationalisation and localisation, the EMBA teaching model is separated into an international class and a general class. The EMBA Education Centre engages teaching staff from top universities world-wide, including Harvard University, Yale University and University of Pennsylvania from USA and University of Toulouse from France

The International EMBA Class: Employs experts in management from world top business schools to teach the students, and to communicate face-to-face. More than 80% of the teaching staff are overseas teachers .

The General EMBA Class: Integrates excellent teaching resources and employs foreign or overseas teachers and domestically renowned scholars for teaching. The proportions of domestic, foreign and overseas teachers are about 30% each.

Teaching Method

The development of EMBA students’ qualities and abilities are emphasised, namely “teaching a man to fish ” instead of “giving a man a fish”. Aiming at different teaching content, the EMBA’s teachers adopt various international advanced teaching methods, including case analysis, group discussions, computer simulations, and practice and actively conduct teaching reform and innovation.

The program is delivered in Chinese and English. English is provided with a Chinese translation, and teaching material is in both Chinese and English; the teacher is provided with assistant teacher and simultaneous translator to ensure the information is conveyed effectively.

The latest teaching material used by the world top business schools is introduced; a large number of typical cases and the latest cases from the Harvard Business School are used to help the students obtain the most advanced management concepts in the world in the shortest possible time, with the fastest speed and the highest efficiency.

The strategy of teaching (streaming) students in accordance of their aptitude is adopted. In the EMBA program, students’industrial backgrounds, characteristics and demand for their future career development are taken into account and diversified curriculum and specialised training methods are implemented.

Learning Methods

Referring to teaching methods of world renowned business schools and combining the actual Chinese situation regarding management, adopting a centralised module learning method and implementing intensive learning within 4 days.
